2 Historic homes join in a love affair with this fantastic coastal paradise called Pass-A-Grille, 25 min
from Tampa Airport. Today it is affectionately called the Pineapple House.
What with FEMA Rules one can understand the love affair it was to move this a 1935 year built home a few blocks and join the 1925 homes in one seen in this Virtual tour below.
Hmm.. $38,000 to move! "Shall I move this 104 31st ave 10 blocks" Trish seems to be saying.
Well they did and might i say they did a great job connecting and elevating the home on to the back of there 1925 home pictured below and in the above Pineapple house to and connect at 105 21st ave Pass-A-Grille Florida

Above is Trish Kelly today with her Realtor Joan Walker saying good buy to me from the front door on 21st ave Pass-A-Grille St Pete Beach

Quite an accomplishment to join 2 homes both classic
most would wonder why they bothered. Personally, I am glad they Tim and Trish Kelly cared to retain these home reflecting how they lived in the early days of Pass-A-Grille because these homes were made of solid old timbers from Forests long gone. Soon we will be using other products besides wood. I actually saw a big old piece of heavy furniture on the sidewalk and pondered how unfashionable it is today. Modern furnishings are plastic and sleek, right?
I marveled at how rich this felt being surrounded by all this wood but the light flowing in was equally soothing. I was puzzled when I drove or walked by,  about why the purple wood at the back on the second floor seems to have failed as a facade. Recently I found out the reason was that when the house was elevated the city said they had to take off, discard the SOLID WOOD siding and replace it with NEW siding. What a travesty that must have been to throw out all that good wood that was over 70 years old and strong.  The new did not last 20yrs. Something to say about life today.
Could true Wisdom for the future be best seen in our ability to reflect and understand the past?
