Let’s be prepared for hurricane season !! 🌪🌊🌪🌊
June 1 marks the start of hurricane season, and we wanted to make sure you were aware of a few important updates:
Updated evacuation zones: Pinellas County Emergency Management has updated evacuation zones for the 2022 hurricane season based on the latest storm surge and elevation data. Nearly 48,000 households have a new evacuation zone. We are encouraging residents to check their evacuation zones at storm.pinellascounty.org. Please help us spread the word with the social media graphics and a printable flyer in our partner toolkit. Residents can also check their evacuation zones by: o Finding it on their next Pinellas County Utilities bill (Note: Bills received prior to May 2022 may not state the updated zone.) o Calling (727) 453-3150 (properties with landlines only) Hurricane Preparedness Day event - June 4, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.: Pinellas County will host a free Hurricane Preparedness Day event at the Lealman Exchange, located at 5175 45th St. N., St. Petersburg. Flyers are available here. Please join us and help spread the word. Copies of our All-Hazard Preparedness Guide are now available at municipal buildings, County offices, and libraries across the County in English, Spanish and Vietnamese. The guide can also be found at storm.pinellascounty.org. Individuals and organizations who would like more than five copies of the All-Hazards Preparedness Guide can pick them up at the following locations: o Lealman Exchange, 5175 45th St. N, St. Petersburg. Open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. o The Centre, 1500 16th St. Palm Harbor. Open Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A new and improved Ready Pinellas emergency preparedness mobile app will be available in early June, featuring all the information you need to know before, during, and after hurricane season, including checklists and an inventory for your home. The link will be available at storm.pinellascounty.org when it’s live. We hope you find these resources helpful as we head into hurricane season, and we encourage you to share them with your communities. Thanks for all that you do to help keep Pinellas residents prepared and informed! You can learn more about hurricane preparedness on our website at pinellascounty.org/emergency. Attached also please find flyers for a suicide prevention virtual town hall on June 14, and for a Pinellas Veterans Community Coffee Social on June 23.
